Do Starpoints earned from SPG American Express expire?
As long as your Starwood Preferred Guest (US, UK, or Canadian) American Express Credit Card remains in good standing and you are making purchases with your American Express Starwood Preferred Guest credit card your account will never expire; otherwise, for accounts to remain active, you must have at least one eligible Starpoints transaction (either earning, redemption, purchase or transfer), every 12 months. When an account expires, any Starpoints accumulated are forfeited without notice. For more details, visit section 4.2 in Starwood Preferred Guest terms and conditions for specifics regarding Starpoint forfeiture.
Do Starpoints expire?
Your SPG Membership is considered "Inactive" if, during a 12-month period:
you have not had an Eligible Stay at an SPG Participating Hotel;
you have not earned*, redeemed, purchased or transferred any Starpoints, or
your account has been cancelled.
*Earned or redeemed' is defined as any points posting to or being removed, transferred, or redeemed from an SPG account.
If your account becomes inactive, your Starpoints will be forfeited without notice. Starpoints do not expire for active accounts (does not apply to Starpoints earned through the Vistana Vacation Network as those expire after six years, regardless of activity).
Starwood Preferred Guest membership expiration dates are reviewed monthly and, if your account had an eligible transaction in the last month, your expiration date is extended 12 months.
For our elite Platinum and Gold members, your accounts are reviewed in February, of each year, for renewing your elite status. Should you fail to meet the qualifying stays/nights to retain your current elite status level, your status will be changed back to the preceding level (Platinum to Gold, Gold to Preferred). Once your membership level has changed back to the Preferred level, your account status will become "Inactive" after 12 months of inactivity, and any Starpoints in your account will be forfeited. This policy applies to Lifetime Platinum and Lifetime Gold memberships, as well.
Accounts may be reactived upon your request or will reactivate automatically when a hotel transaction is posted to the account.
To request your account be reactivated, please contact us by phone or have us call you. You will be required to verify account ownership. Your request to reactivate your account may only be performed by speaking with an SPG Agent.

재가 항공 마일 유효기간 글은 올렸는데, 아직 호텔 포인트 유효기간 글은 안 썼네요. ㅠㅠ
SPG 포인트는 유효기간이 12개월인데요.
우리가 보통 SPG AMEX 카드를 자주 쓰기때문에 이런 사례가 이곳에서는 아직 논의가 안되었던것 같아요.
12개월동안에 아무거나 (단 $1을 쓰더라도) 엑티비티가 있으면 소유포인트 전체가 연장이 됩니다.
그래서 이 프로그램 꼭 하시라고 글 써놨었는데요. ㅠㅠ

이 경우 가족이 SPG회원에 가입하고 서로 포인트를 주고 받는 transfer를 하면
유효기간을 계속 유지할 수 있지 않나요?

가족간에 포인트 전환도 activity중에 하나라서 될것으로 생각됩니다.
혹시 spg홈페이지에서 확인하신건가요? 가끔 Amex홈페이지에서 나오는 YTD point가 매년 리셋되는걸 보시고 헷갈리시는분들이 있으신데 그런거라면 좋겠는데요 ㅠㅠㅠ
+1 열심히 모았다고 하시니, 액티비티가 계속 있었을것 같아요. 아마 아멕스 사이트에서 0으로 된거 보신게 아닌가 싶어요.

여기에는 저도 0로 나와요. 이것은 실제 호텔체인 SPG 포인트와는 다릅니다.
이것 보시고 없어졌다고 하시면 안되고요. SPG 호텔 공홈에서 확인 해 보세요.
그리고 거기에는 있는지 업데잇 해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 그 포인트가 12개월동안에 아무런 엑티비티가 없으면 포인트가 없어집니다.
